A web browser (internet browser, or browser) is a piece of software installed on a computer that communicates with the internet, and reads and displays web content (websites and their pages). Some common misconceptions with users is that they are limited to the browser that was installed on their machine, the browser currently installed is the best available, and that alternatives cost money.
